reset. Line official or match director will give alibi shooter special commands to handle, load, fire and cease fire. During this time no other shooters will be allowed to handle weapons. Clamping of Targets. Should there be excessive wind which blows target down the Match Director may elect to clamp the last target to its stand and shooters will shoot multiple shoots on it for all missing targets. Coaches, Spotters, Time, and Score Keepers.. A shooter may have one individual that acts in any or all of the aforementioned capacities. The individual may use any optical or time keeping device and may set next to the shooter. They may not touch the shooter's equipment unless there is a situation where an accident could occur that could cause injury. An exception to the last statement is granted to adults assisting junior shooters to insure maximum safe shooting and enjoyment. Score Keeping: Shooters are required to keep track of their hits and to turn in score cards provided to them at the end of their course of fire. The Match Director may choose to post scores during the course of fire in addition to or in lieu of scorecards. Determining Match Winner: The match winner and subsequent placements will be determined based on total score. Should a tie exist then the shooter with the most targets at the greatest distance will be the winner. Should ties still exist the shooter with the most targets at the next distance is the winner. Should a total tie with matching scores exist a shoot off for the award will take place. Shoot offs will consist of 5 shots and will be conducted on mixed animals at the third or fourth distance until a winner is determined. Target Damage Rule: The targets created for this discipline are crafted from the hardest steel commercially available,( Abrasion Resistant 400/500 BHN Brinell hardness), and have been tested with rifles and ammunition to determine an acceptable level of damage consistent with knocking the target off its stand. Should any rifle or pistol and specific ammunition in combination (within those currently approved) be determined to cause excessive damage during a match or sighters it will be disallowed and the shooters entry fee will be refunded The Match Director or line officials may examine the ammunition of any shooter to determine its potential to do excessive damage to targets. Situations Not Covered By These Rules: Should there be a situation arise requiring clarification, modification, or addition to these rules it will be verbally announced by the Match Director after consultation with Associate Directors and others as necessary. These rules will be amended. A copy will be posted at the firing line.
Applicable Montrose Rod and Gun Club Range Rules
-Eye and Ear protection required at all times when on MRGC property. -Firearms to completely unloaded, and in racks where provided, with actions open , when not at an approved firing station. -Firearms are only to be discharged at approved targets. Shooting at buildings, lights or any other unapproved target will lead to expulsion. -No one under the age of 18 is allowed to use any MRGC facility with out adult supervision. -No Alcoholic beverages allowed on MRGC property. -Clean up after yourself, deposit fired brass and boxes in the trash.
